Marty White

1943-2015

 

Martin (Marty) Edward White 72 (January 7, 1943 – April 17, 2015) was the beloved husband of Mary "Mimi" H. White (nee Luke) and the late Barbara Gene White (nee Bailey).  Loving father of Steven (Valerie) and Craig (Threasa) White, Aimee (Tim) Merkle, Melinda (John) Ross and step-children Collin Hamilton and Margaret "Megan" (Patrick) Rabbitt. Dear grandfather of Marisa, Robert, Christopher, Donald, Ella, Gabriella, James and Henry. Dear brother, uncle and friend to many.  Services: Funeral service at Woodlawn Chapel Presbyterian Church, 16520 Clayton Rd., Wildwood, Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Fund. Visitation at church Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.  A service of the SCHRADER Funeral Homes & Crematory. Immediately following the service there will be a motorcycle escort to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for burial with full military honors.  Friends may sign the family’s on-line guest book at Schrader.com.  Marty was a retired electrical engineer for Anheuser-Busch.  He served as an elder at Woodlawn Chapel Presbyterian Church.  He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Rotary Club of West County, and an active volunteer for the USO.

 

Marty had only been a chapter member for a few years. He usually attended meetings with his wife, Mimi, and his son, Steve, who joined with him. Shortly after becoming a member, Marty purchased a uniform and joined the color guard. Marty was very involved with the chapter and was serving as chapter vice president when he passed away. He will be missed by all.
