Oliver W. Wilkins 78 (October 10, 1929 - October 14, 2007) was the loving husband of the late Carol Wilkins (nee Buschmeyer); devoted son of Emma; stepfather of Doug Jones of St. Charles, MO; step-grandfather of Tony Jones; dear brother of Mabel G. Salfen  (who passed away in 2009)of Bridgeton, MO and the late James H. Wilkins, Bob R. Wilkins, F. Emmett Wilkins, Howard H. Wilkins and Mary A. Hickmann; loving brother-in-law of Lorraine Wilkins and Alice Wilkins of St. Charles, MO and William Salfen of Bridgeton, MO.  Oliver was born on October 10, 1929 in St. Charles, MO.  Oliver and his wife were residents of St. Charles, MO.  His wife Carol was the Archivist for the St. Charles County Historical Society from 1986 - 1999.  Mr. Wilkins was a visually impaired letter carrier, inventor and jack of all trades. He was also a retired Wal-Mart employee. Mr. Wilkins was a member of the Retired Letter Carriers , the St. Charles Poker Club, and SAR.  Oliver joined the SAR on August 3, 1998 and was a Charter Member of the Fernando de Leyba Chapter.  Memorial Services were held on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in St. Charles, MO.  Memorials were requested to be made to the Missouri Lions Eye Research c/o PAUL Funeral Homes Inc., 240 N. Kingshighway, St. Charles, MO 63301.
