Cold Water Cemetery
15290 Old Hills Ferry Road
Florissant, MO 63034
The Cold Water Cemetery, located in Florissant, Missouri, became the property of the Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (MSSDAR) in November 1963, when ownership was transferred to them by the Cold Water Cemetery Association. On accepting this unusual gift, the MSSDAR assumed the responsibilities of its future maintenance and of bringing to it the recognition it deserves in the history of America’s Westward Expansion.
During her term, State Regent June Lanz, with the assistance of State Historian Janett Miller and Cold Water Cemetery State Chair Judy Seago, collected and prepared the documentation for Cold Water Cemetery to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The application was approved by the Department of the Interior.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior the cemetery was dedicated on 31 May 2004, by MSSDAR. The contents herein were obtained from “A Stroll Through Coldwater Cemetery,” compiled and copyrighted by the Webster Groves Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), Missouri Secretary of State online death certificates, family histories, and other sources.
